KB Foam de Mexico, a manufacturing plant of primarily molded packaging products, using EPS (expandable polystyrene) and other expandable resins, has been providing services for the electronics industry around San Diego/Tijuana/Mexicali regions since 1991. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of KB Foam Inc., a California corporation located in San Diego, CA, which is one of the subsidiaries of Kasahara Ind. Co., Ltd, (www.s-kasahara.co.jp) in Japan. The plant was established in 1990, started its operations in early 1991, as one of the older EPS cushion suppliers among the many Maquiladora companies in the Tijuana area.
Taking advantage of competitive production cost in Mexico, and with an advantage of its location being nearby the large U.S. consumer markets, many international electronics firms have installed their assembly plants in Baja California, a northern state of Mexico, particularly in Tijuana. Their finished goods are packed in carton boxes, which contain the interior protective cushions made out of EPS, to be shipped to the U.S.A. and other countries for further distribution. KB Foam has been accommodating the services to the major manufacturers in high technologies and consumer electronics industries in the area for over the last 2 decades. Currently, TV and computer monitor assemblers, such as Sharp, Sanyo, Panasonic, Foxconn, Qisda, etc. are our main customers in Tijuana and Mexicali.
KB Foam’s products are custom molded foamed components. By corroboration of molders in Japan, China and U.S.A., KB Foam provides custom designed tooling. Kasahara Ind. Co., Ltd. the parent company of KB Foam Inc, has started EPS foam business in 1962, has been one of the leading manufactures in foamed plastic industries in Japan. To meet the exact needs of their clients, KB Foam group and their parent company work closely, involve early stages of developing molds, making proto type samples, and obtaining mass-production molds quickly. Customer service at KB Foam de Mexico works together with clients to keep their schedules for their assembly lines by delivering the excellent products and services on times.
